What a year it’s been!

We thought it was about time we popped in with a little update on everything that’s been happening behind the scenes.
First things first - the new name! The Fleur Kitchen felt like the perfect fit for who we are and what we love: seasonal growing, garden-to-table cooking, and the joy of simple things. Along with it came a shiny new logo and website, and we’re a little bit in love with both.

We also took the leap onto TikTok (we know how modern of us!) and even more exciting… our very first book is with the editors! It’s full of stories, recipes, and seasonal notes, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.
In the village, Joanne helped create a beautiful community garden with raised beds and a fully funded commercial polytunnel. Thanks to our local parish council. She now manages their social media and keeps everything looking lovely online. It’s been such a success there’s already a waitlist!
Ashley has put his name forward to be allotment secretary (we’re crossing fingers!) and is starting to explore creating a coppice area. More trees. More habitat. More beauty.
The compost area at the allotment has doubled in size thanks to some rather smart new bins that Ashley built himself, and the shed has finally had its long-overdue tidy-up. It’s now home to a big chaor for reading on rainy days, sweet little log burner that makes the perfect winter retreat. A perfect place for plotting and potting.
Joanne has also gone self-employed in her lawyer work, giving her more time to focus on growing, writing, and dreaming up new ideas for The Fleur Kitchen.
We finally have our own polytunnel! The allotment has had a big update, with a mix of handmade wooden raised beds (thank you Ashley) and some brilliant galvanized metal ones kindly gifted as part of a Real Gardens collaboration. More on that later.
And last, but by no means least…
We have a new little allotment helper. Meet Bella, our five-year-old Pugzu! She’s full of character, never strays to far from the shed and already has a favourite spot in the Buttercups, keeping an eye on her treats.
We’re so grateful for everything this year has alteady brought us and we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2025 has in store.

With love,
The Fleur Kitchen
