Floral Choc Buttons
Delicate, Daring & Almost Too Pretty to Eat
There’s a quiet joy in making your own chocolate treats—especially when they’re as beautiful as they are bold. These little buttons are melt-in-the-mouth morsels, topped with fluttering edible petals and a whisper of chilli warmth. They look like something from a cottage garden sweet shop and take only minutes to make.
Perfect for gifting, table flavours, or a moment of everyday indulgence with a cup of strong coffee or floral tea.
INGREDIENTS - makes 12-16 buttons depending on size
-
100g good-quality dark, milk, or white chocolate (choose your favourite)
-
A small handful of dried edible flower petals (cornflower, calendula, rose, lavender—all lovely)
-
A pinch of dried chilli flakes (use more or less depending on your taste)
-
Optional: pinch of flaky sea salt

HOW TO
-
Prepare the tray – Line a flat baking tray with parchment paper. If you like, trace small circles (about 3–4cm wide) on the reverse side as a guide.
-
Melt the chocolate – Break the chocolate into pieces and gently melt it using a bain-marie (a bowl set over a pan of simmering water) or in short bursts in the microwave. Stir until smooth and glossy.
-
Shape the buttons – Spoon small rounds of melted chocolate onto the parchment. Use the back of the spoon to gently spread each one into a neat circle.
-
Decorate – Before the chocolate sets, lightly press flower petals onto each button, followed by a few chilli flakes and a sprinkle of sea salt if using. Less is more—let each element speak.
-
Set & serve – Allow the buttons to set at room temperature or pop the tray into the fridge for 15–20 minutes until firm.
-
Store – Keep in an airtight container in a cool place for up to a week (if they last that long).
